Services
Massage is personal. There is no one-type-fits-all solution. Different modalities address different issues.
The different modalities of massage are like branches on the main tree of wellness. None is more important than the other; they all work synergistically to enhance your overall wellbeing. Together, we will discuss what will be best to focus on during your session and what massage techniques will be used.
Swedish Massage
Therapeutic massage doesn’t need to be painful to work. If you’re looking for relaxation, there’s nothing better than a Swedish massage. This modality focuses on calming the body, reducing tension in the muscles, and increasing overall blood flow. This type of massage can even break down scar tissue.
Deep Tissue
Deep tissue massage is generally a modality to consider for athletes as well as the eight-to-five desk job. Muscles easily become tense and deep tissue massage can relieve some chronic patterns of pain and tension, specifically in the back, shoulder and neck areas.
Myofascial Release
Myofascial Release is a form of soft tissue therapy intended to eliminate pain, increase range of motion, and rebalance the entire body. It does this by using massage techniques to stretch the fascia and release the bonds that exist between the fascia, muscles and bones. Fascia is the connective tissue that connects and covers all muscles, organs, and skeletal structures of the body. Direct myofascial release is sometimes known as deep tissue work. Indirect release applies light pressure and gently stretches the fascia; this allows for increased blood circulation and relief from pain.
Trigger Point Massage
Exercise is beneficial for the body, but sometimes, we do too much! Continuous movement often leads to irritated tissues and contracted muscles that just won’t move. These become your body’s trigger points, and this type of massage can help. A trigger point massage is designed to relieve pain, reduce chronic injuries, and help muscles function properly.
Prenatal Massage
During pregnancy, your body is changing every day, which can lead to new aches, stress, and tension. This nurturing massage is perfect for the mother-to-be to relieve and relax those tension areas. Positioning, pillows, and cushions are used to provide support and the most comfortable experience. Can be booked for any time during the pregnancy. Not recommended for high-risk pregnancies.
